Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Slate (“the Service”), operated by Slate DFS (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Slate is a daily fantasy sports (DFS) lineup optimization tool for DraftKings and FanDuel. The Service provides player projections, lineup building tools, and optimization features to assist users in creating DFS contest entries.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally permitted to participate in daily fantasy sports in your jurisdiction.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, maintain the security of your credentials, and promptly notify us of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

5. Subscription and Billing

  • Slate offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription billed monthly or annually.
  • Payment is processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges.
  • You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service beyond normal API usage.
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are owned by Slate DFS and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that projections, statistics, or optimization results will be accurate, complete, or result in winning DFS entries. Daily fantasy sports involve financial risk, and past performance does not guarantee future results.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slate DFS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses from DFS contest entries.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slate DFS and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Quebec.
